What services do you offer?
We provide specially curated individual therapy sessions tailored to your unique needs, goals, and lived experiences. Each treatment plan is personalized to support your mental health journey in a safe, collaborative, and compassionate environment.
____________What can I expect during my first session?
Getting started is simple:
Step 1: Schedule a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs, answer any questions, and determine whether we're a good fit.
Step 2: If you decide to move forward, you'll receive your intake paperwork by email. This includes your intake questionnaire, payment information, informed consent, confidentiality forms, and professional disclosure documents.
Step 3: Complete and submit your forms before your first appointment.
Step 4: Attend your first therapy session. During this appointment, we'll review your paperwork, complete your clinical intake, discuss your goals, and begin creating a plan that best supports your needs.

How do I schedule an appointment?
New clients can schedule a free consultation by emailing intake@oyatherapy.com.
Existing clients can schedule, reschedule, or manage appointments through the client portal.

Working with us is collaborative, honest, and straightforward. We believe therapy is a partnership, where you are the expert on your life and we bring clinical guidance, support, and evidence-based tools to help you reach your goals. Together, we'll create a space where you feel heard, challenged when appropriate, and supported throughout your healing journey.

Cancellation policy + Late arrivals
To help us provide timely care for all clients, we kindly ask that you reschedule or cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a $75 cancellation fee.
Missed appointments (no-shows) will incur a $75 no-show fee.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.
We understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances can happen. If an extenuating circumstance prevents you from attending your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible. Fee waivers may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Service termination
To maintain a safe, respectful, and ethical therapeutic environment, we reserve the right to terminate services immediately under the following circumstances:
Two consecutive no-show appointments.
Inappropriate conduct toward the clinician, including but not limited to sexual comments or behavior, harassment, violence, or threats of violence.
Repeated disregard for practice policies, including but not limited to refusal to pay for services.
If services are terminated, the client will receive written notification via email explaining the reason for the decision. Once services have been terminated under these circumstances, the client will not be eligible to reestablish care with the practice.

Do you offer Virtual Therapy?
Yes! We offer secure virtual therapy sessions through the TherapyNotes® Patient Portal. Once your appointment is scheduled, you'll receive instructions on how to access your session through the portal.
To participate in telehealth, you'll need:
A reliable internet connection
A computer, tablet, or smartphone with a camera and microphone
A private, quiet location where you can speak comfortably and confidentially

Can I receive therapy if I live outside of Pennsylvania?
At this time, we are only able to provide therapy services to clients located in Pennsylvania, in accordance with state licensure laws and professional ethical guidelines. This applies to all services, including in-person, virtual, and phone sessions.

What payment methods do you accept?
At this time, we accept cash payments or credit / debit cards only.
We appreciate your understanding and will share any future payment options as they become available.

Do you offer payment plans?
We strive to keep our services as affordable as possible to make therapeutic support accessible to those who need it.If you need a payment plan, we're happy to discuss available options on a case-by-case basis.

Is what I share in therapy confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is a top priority, and what you share in therapy is kept confidential in accordance with applicable laws and professional ethical standards.
There are a few exceptions where confidentiality may be legally or ethically required to be broken, including:
If there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else.
If there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, older adult, or dependent adult.
If records are required by a valid court order or as otherwise required by law.
If confidentiality ever needs to be limited, we will discuss the situation with you whenever possible.

What should I do if I'm experiencing a mental health crisis?
Oya Therapy does not provide emergency or crisis services.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or believe you are at immediate risk of harming yourself or others:
Call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you are able, notify your therapist after you have reached a safe place so we can discuss appropriate next steps during regular business hours.
